NZ Harlequins kicked off in the wind and had the momentum in the first 5 minutes. Harlequins are reward for their hard work and are given a penalty, which Harlequins No.10 Rikki Wathne converts, 3-0 to Harlequins.

Bay of the Plenty forwards attack the Harlequin goal and go over for a try in the 27minute. Try was unconverted 5-3 to the Bay. Just before half time in the 32 minutes the Bay applies pressure to the Harlequins scrum, the ball squirts out a scrum and a Bay forward flops on the ball for a try under the posts. The try is converted, score 12 -3 at the half time break.

Brief summary of second half:

After half time the game turns into a kicking fest, until the Bay forwards build up a rucks and score with solid driving play, the try is unconverted. 17-3.

Harlequins loose forward Sahn Povey shows a turn of speed and gets over the Bays goal line for a much needed try, Rikki Wathne converts, 17-10.

The bay forwards once again rumble forward, using the conditions and their solid forwards, they cross the line again in the 60 minute mark. The try is unconverted, 22-10 lead the bay.

Harlequins no.8 Daniel Popping is yellow carded in the 65 minute.

For the 2nd time in the last 2 weeks, the Harlequins fight back and produce the play of the day from a set piece lineout, of the top feed from Trever Attwood, through the backs with winger Daniel Henderson leaving his opposite clutching thin air and passing back inside to Huw Elias who scores under the post. The try is successfully converted, bringing the score to 22-17 to the Bay, this is the final score, a win to the Bay of Plenty 22-17.
